Postulates of Cybernoetics:
- Each past experience is recorded in a
register as a multi-component vector.
- Among the components are:
- Time
- Location
- Emotion
- etc, until we come to¹
- Viewpoint
- In order to "erase" a record, the
register must be precisely re-written by duplicating all components. It will
then erase. This may be done by looking at the original event with perfect
fidelity. Failing this, the event may be "replayed." The efficacy
of the replay is proportional to the fidelity with which the event is
re-experienced.
- It is particularly important that the
original event be re-perceived from the precise viewpoint (within the
record) from which it was originally experienced. As an aid to fidelity, the
subject may be asked to physically re-occupy the circumstances of the
experience which one seeks to erase, if the locale is accessible.
- It is a native ability, apparently an
inherent property of the stuff of soul, to be able to create and to cause the
full erasure of any thought structure, including certain fields of memory
records, mass-emulating structures, and the like.
- This faculty imperils the permanence of
thought structures, unless the structure remains uninspected for some reason
or is rendered "turbid" with respect to direct perception of its
attributes. In either case it persists until it is thoroughly and accurately
inspected and thereby re-written.
- Embedded misconception (or deception) is a
common reason why things have persisted.
