Jamalzadeh,
The Father of Modern Persian Literature

He was a good friend of my father
A picture I took near his Geneva residence 1993

The above pictures of Jamalzadeh and I were taken by my dear and beautiful friend "Fatan Mehran" in Geneva - September 17,1993. Actually it was a video camera. and Jamalzadeh told for hours, many nice stories dating back from 1931, a time he was with my father at the League of Nations. He invited us for tea and cookies in his humble appartment surrounded with countless books and manuscripts. Then, when the time came for us to leave, he took my pen a wrote on a piece of paper a few poems and some very nice and kind words. You can read them below in Farsi if you have Persian fonts for the Net. Otherwise just click the link in blue and take a look at the PHOTO of his writings on a small of piece paper.
