Scattered today, a little everywhere in Iran and on planet Earth, they plan to renew close contacts between themselves in order that their descendents may appreciate each other better and thus preserve and carry on the family torch an tradition.
Farzad Nekoogar is the grandson of Ali Khan Sepahbod Qajar. Ali Khan was the youngest son of Etemad Dowleh a Qajar grandee of Persia and grandson of Prince Etezad Dowleh (Shir Khan) whose painting is seen above.
Farzad currently lives in the San Francisco bay area with his family. He is an Electronics Design Automation Consultant working in Silicon Valley. He lectures at the University of California Berkeley on electrical engineering and theoretical physics. He is also the author of a graduate level textbook on "Digital Control Using DSP".
In his spare time he plays setar and practices traditional Iranian martial arts (Varzesh-e-Bastani). In the first photo below from right to left are "Agha Sepahbod Qajar," Farhad Sepahbody's grandfather, - Soleyman Sepahbody - the third person is Etemad Dowleh, brother of Agha Sepahbod. The last person to the right is Sadr-Ol-Ashraf Amini private secretary of Etemad Dowleh. Later, Sadr-ol-Ashraf became President of the Persian Majless (Chamber of Deputies.)
The photo below shows the late Colonel Ali Sepahbodi Qajar, grandson of Ezzat Dowleh the sister of Nasser-al-Din Shah and Prince Shir Khan Qajar. Colonel Ali Sepahbodi is the grandfather of Farzad Nekoogar. He is also a cousin of Anoshiravan Sepahbody Qajar.
